Writing from the Foothills of the Rockies
Welcome to my site.
I write creative stories, both fiction and nonfiction, and occasionally put up a blog post. Feel free to peruse the site and to contact me.
The photo above captures part of the view of the Rocky Mountain foothills, from the west edge of my neighborhood in Fort Collins, Colorado. Hiking up the closest ridge is one of my favorite ways to get my body moving – but always with some caution, since bears and mountain lions sometimes cross through the area and rattlesnakes like to curl up in the middle of the trail to bask in the sun. When skirting around a rattler, I have to remind myself to respect these and other creatures for the roles they play in our fragile ecosystem.
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” – From a statement by Chief Seattle, 1854
